This year’s show started dull and overcast but the day brightened and by mid afternoon the sun was shining.
Access to the show ground was easy having had a dry spell before the show so there were no problems in accessing the show ground and all competitors were in early to stage their sticks.
Our judges this year were Mr. C. Grant of Kelso and Mr. W. Lambert of Hawes.
Judging started on time and they set about judging 286 sticks in 20 classes. The standard of sticks was as high as ever and commented on by the judges.
One or two of the regulars have retired from showing but the reputation of the show has encouraged some newcomers to take part, keeping the number of sticks at the high level we are happy to accommodate.
After two hours of judging the following results were confirmed
My thanks to Mr Joe Peart of Stick ‘n Stuff who again sponsored the Novice classes and donated the prizes My thanks also to Mr Bill Gibson who not only sponsored the best stick in the show and the best stick made by a lady but also was the demonstrator on the day.
I would also like to thank the BSDA committee for the help in setting up the show and for their assistance as Stewards on showday and in particular Mrs Sue Stephenson who assisted with all the paperwork. Also to The Tynedale County Show Committee with special thank to Judy Willis (Show Secretary )and Anthony Crozier (Site Manager) for their Help throughout the year
Here’s to 2017
